Designed specifically for applique, this 40wt melting nylon thread works a treat when heated to ≥ 250° F.
Your appliqued piece stays soft and supple - compare to stiff pieces backed by fusible web or stabiliser. Also, your two pieces of fabric remain separate from each other as they're only glued together around the edge, so great for reverse applique too!
Use as your bobbin thread only (it will melt on your iron if used as a top thread).
1 spool is 115 yards.
Recommended needle - Size 100/16 Topstitch
Step 1 - Sew a single outlining stitch on your applique piece, with the Fusible Web thread in your bobbin and appearing on the back side of your fabric.
Top tip: Use a slick thread as your needle thread e.g. Superior's MonoPoly, for the best results - cotton thread, with all its fibres will get caught in the melted Fusible Web thread and won't release nicely.
Step 2 - cut out as close to your stitch line as possible (unless you want a frayed look to your piece), then place your piece on your base fabric (both pieces facing up) and apply a hot iron for 10 seconds to all parts to melt the Fusible Web thread. Gently remove the upper thread and allow the fabric to cool before handling it further.
Step 3 - stitch in place to finsh
