Cheesecloth

Home/Home/Cheesecloth

Cheesecloth, also know as muslin in the UK, is a loose-woven gauze-like cotton cloth, typically available in a range of different "grades" from #10 - 90. The grade numbers are not indicative of the quality of the fabric, but instead refer to the thread count of the material. The higher the grade number, the higher the thread count and so, the smaller the holes.

Cheesecloth is ideal for the following applications:

(Grade #90, 80): cheesemaking; polishing; apparel

(Grade #40, 50, 60): straining foods; wine filtering

(Grade #10, 20): make great halloween ghosts
